The Adolf Loebel Collection primarily documents the events of the Holocaust in Baden-Württemberg with an extensiveamount of newspaper clippings. To a smaller extent it shows a few of the experiences of Adolf Loebel, head of the Jewish community in Heidelberg. In addition to the many newspaperclippings the collection contains circular letters and announcements, some correspondence, a list of Jews in Baden from 1940 and a few photographs.

Adolf Loebl was born in Vinita, Romania on April 7, 1895. He married Sofie (possibly called Suse) Billig of Munich and they had two daughters, Ellen and Hannelore. The family lived in Karlsruhe. He and his family survived the Holocaust in hiding in Karlsruhe. From 1945 he was president of the Jewish community of Heidelberg.
